Il mosaico di Chia, uno dei protagonisti della Transavanguardia, riveste internamente con la luminosità dei suoi azzurri la base della guglia. Nelle monumentali figure di bagnanti confluiscono linguaggi artistici del passato e del presente, ma soprattutto si avverte la memoria della grande tradizione figurativa italiana.

The mosaic created by Chia, one of the leading figures of the Transavanguardia (Italian Neo-Expressionist group), suffuses the interior base of the spire with the luminosity of its blues. Artistic languages of past and present merge in the huge figures of the bathers, but the overriding theme is the great tradition of Italian figurative art.
